Check a specific Honda
The free GCC spec check reads a VIN and gives a verdict with a certainty score and the evidence behind it. The full VIN decoder returns every attribute the decode resolves, with the source of each one.
Honda's Japanese-built VINs carry more in positions 7 and 8 than any other brand this technique has been applied to.
GCC specification is decided per vehicle, not per model. Two cars of the same model and the same year, built in the same factory in the same week, can go to different markets. So no page can tell you whether yours is a Gulf car, and this one does not try. What it can do is show you exactly what your own VIN encodes and where that stops.
JHM and JHL are Honda Motor Company in Japan, the same plants and WMIs that supply this region, and JHM alone carries 1,180 filed patterns, the richest table found so far. SHH is Swindon in the United Kingdom.
The American and Canadian built WMIs are deliberately not claimed. The reference decodes those completely on its own, so a curated table there could only add disagreement.
Honda is the one brand in this group with a genuinely useful variant tier, 140 rows against Hyundai and Kia's six, because positions 7 and 8 carry transmission and engine in a way that maps onto trim cleanly.
| WMI | Built by | Country of manufacture |
